    Well,

    So far, I'm on the edge of my seat! I love how Joss has set out so many potential (no pun intended) story lines. What is real, what is in Buffy's head? What is foreshadowing, what's a red herring? So many possibilities: Romance between Buffy and Xander; Dawn's sex life; undead legions and possible champions emerging, like the Master or Adam; the big military conspiracy, a la Initiative Part II; the glyph on General Big Shot's chest.

    I think I'm going to go back and start memorizing every frame!

    Who's in the first cell? Adam? Spike? the Mayor? Darla?

    Hooray for Willow's return!

    Dammit! How many arcs can we process at a time? Maybe this is the embarrassment of riches, but I would like to be able to follow one story line.

    Really not complaining.

      So Season 8 has progressed a bit more since anyone last posted in this thread. Thoughts on the current Faith-centered storyline? The new piece of the 'twilight' puzzle? I think it's all pretty awesome -- better than seasons 6 & 7 for sure.

        I really am enjoying a continuous arc. I did notice what I think is a goof. If Gigi had studied Buffy so intensively (all the pictures of Buffy posted up), wouldn't she have seen a picture of Faith and recognized her?

        Gigi takes the "bad Slayer" idea to new levels. Putting Faith in opposition to her is nice and dramatic. Maybe we might even see what happened to the psycho slayer who chopped off Spike's hands in Angel.

        Having lots of fun. I just purchased the Omnibus series, too.

          Yes I noticed that goof too! You're totally right about that. It almost makes me want to write a letter to the editor!

          I'm looking forward to seeing B's reaction when she finds out from Giles that Faith was telling the truth and really is undercover.

          Perhaps she's so obsessed with the one girl she doesn't pay much attention to anyone else? I mean, if I was Gigi, and I knew Buffy was in command either directly or indirectly of a bunch of Slayer girls, I couldn't possibly keep track of all of them, and therefore might be suspicious of ANY girl around me, just in case.

    Wolves at the Gate #4:

    OMG! I thought this was wonderful! From the cover imitating the promotion still from "Shichinin no Samurai" (Seven Samurai), the whole Buffy and Satsu goodbye, the Will & Buffy banter (foreshadowing?), the Xander and Renee (sniff) goodbye, and, and. MECHA-DAWN! I posted on one of the boards that "Gojira" was appearing waaay too much and thought that the artists were just getting lazy with their Japanese. Shoulda known! Shoulda known!

    Such a great way to end the arc! The multi-character ending reminded me of "Conversations with Dead People", one of my favorite episodes.

      poor Xander! Truly heartbreaking. I did love the quips he was exchanging with Dracula at the end though. I also loved Andrew's "I've been preparing for this my whole life!" line. It was just all so good. I think I missed a bounce somewhere though -- who was Willow communing with at the end?

        I thought the bi-buffy sub-plot was a little meh. I guess it is just part of the "all women do it" trope.

        and yeah, poor xander. though they can use it. all they have to do is have him fall for the next big bad, and instant random decapitation.
